Rule 3
Performance of Commission's work
When performing its work in accordance with the Constitution and the Act, the Commission shall carry out the following tasks: (a) Study, analyze and monitor the programs implemented by various agencies of the Government of Nepal in relation to gender equality, women's empowerment and gender mainstreaming to the relevant agencies for improvement. To send in writing,
(b) Study of laws, policies and programs implemented by various agencies including the Government of Nepal to end violence and/or discrimination against women. To follow up and send in writing to the relevant agency for improvement,
(c) To remove bad practices, social evils, bad practices and superstitions against women existing in the society from various agencies including the Government of Nepal: to monitor the programs being conducted and prepare suggestions for improvement and recommend them,
(d) To provide psycho-social counseling and legal assistance for sexually abused women and dependent children,
(e) To provide necessary cooperation and coordination with related agencies to send women and dependent children to safe shelters, short-term housing, rehabilitation centers or service centers, etc., for women and dependent children who are victims of gender violence, (f) To provide livelihood for women victims of violence in safe shelters, rehabilitation centers and service centers. Necessary for: To coordinate with related agencies to provide professional and employable skills, training, etc.,
(G) To conduct awareness raising programs against women violence, discrimination, corruption,
(h) To monitor and evaluate the activities of governmental and non-governmental organizations operating on women's rights and interests, and give necessary suggestions. (i) To provide necessary recommendations for improvements by conducting on-site monitoring and inspection of safe shelters, residential homes, rehabilitation centers, service centers and child correctional homes operated for victims of violence and destitute women and vulnerable children,
(h) To monitor whether the welfare programs run by government and non-government bodies for women and children are effective and gender-friendly and to make suggestions and recommendations to make them more effective,
(k) To identify the need for gender equality, gender empowerment, gender mainstreaming and gender justice, conduct studies, research, and recommend policy reforms to the Government of Nepal. (l) In terms of controlling gender violence, discrimination, abuse, social evil etc., to prepare and implement various plans and programs including the Government of Nepal: To recommend to various agencies.
