3. Formation and Scope of the Commission (1) A Far West Development Commission will be formed to formulate and implement development policies and plans for the comprehensive and sustainable development of the Far West region. (2) The Commission shall have the following The chairman and members will be:-

(a) One person appointed by the Government of Nepal from among the permanent residents of Far West Region – Chairman
(b) Five persons nominated by the Government of Nepal to be represented from those who have permanently settled in the Far West Region - members
(c) Vice President, Poverty Alleviation Fund – Member
(d) Secretary, Ministry of Finance – Member
(e) Secretary, National Planning Commission Secretariat – Member
(f) Executive Director – Member – Secretary
(3) The Chairman and the Executive Director shall act as full-time officers of the Commission.
(4) The jurisdiction of the Commission shall be the Far West Region.
