Rule 26
Operation and maintenance of the well
: (1) The contractor shall give a written notice of such work to the department with a detailed description of the drilling program at least fifteen (15) days before any drilling or work over works in the well. The contractor shall give the details of such works as possible to the department before logging or carrying out any work.
(2) When digging a well, producing and maintaining it, the contractor should do the following:
(a) Wells that pierce the vertical surface of the underground should not be dug beyond the boundary of the production area.
(b) In each well, a blowout preventer should be installed and kept in working condition, and such equipment should be tested from time to time and records should be kept according to the prescribed method.
(c) In order to prevent sudden petroleum release (blowout) from a well, appropriate quantity of soil of suitable quality should be used.
(d) Cutting samples shall be taken at a distance of ten (10) meters throughout the depth of the well or as directed by the department, and the number and depth of the respective well shall be mentioned in such samples.
(e) If the core sample is taken, the cores should be divided and placed in the core box according to the stratigraphic order and in each core box the number of cores and the depth of the upper and lower parts of the cores, the percentage of core recovery and the name of the well should also be mentioned.
(f) A part of the cut and core sample taken according to clauses (d) and (e) should be provided to the department within a reasonable time.
