(1) In order to protect and manage the conservation area according to the management plan, the council will form a maximum of two consumer committees in one village development committee in coordination with local consumer groups and local village development committees.
(2) The Consumer Committee shall have the following members:-
(a) Five members chosen from among themselves by the chairman of the consumer group under the committee (b) Three members selected from among themselves by the president of the mothers' group or women's group under the committee. (c) One member chosen by the Chairman of the Community Forest User Group from among themselves (d) One member from among backward classes, castes or social workers (e) Chairman of the concerned village development committee – ex-officio member
(3) The nomination of the members as per clause (d) of sub-rule (2) shall be done by the meeting of the members of clauses (a), (b) and (c).
(4) The members of the committee shall choose one chairman, vice-chairman, secretary and treasurer from among the members mentioned in clauses (a), (b), (c) and (d) of sub-rule (2).
(5) The selection process of committee officials will be as determined by the committee itself. (6) The term of office of committee officials and members will be five years from the date of formation.
