(1) The Commission shall inform the Government of Nepal at least one month before the end of the term of office of the Vice President or if the position becomes vacant for any other reason, and the date of the election shall be fixed so that the election is held within one month from the date of the vacancy.
(2) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-section (1), in the case of the first election after the commencement of this Act, or in the event that the positions of the President and the Vice-President are vacant at the same time, within seven days of the election of the President and the announcement of the results, the Commission shall inform the Government of Nepal of the date of the election.
