Section 24
Vice-Chancellor

(1) The Vice-Chancellor shall be the chief officer working full time in the University.
(2) To recommend the appointment to the post of Vice-Chancellor, the Chancellor will form a three-member committee from among the members of the Assembly, including the Secretary of the Ministry of Education.
(3) The committee under sub-section (2) shall recommend the names of three persons who are eligible to be appointed to the post of Vice-Chancellor and the Vice-Chancellor shall appoint the Vice-Chancellor from among the persons so recommended.
(4) The Vice-Chancellor shall have general control over all the activities of the University and he may direct and supervise the activities of the University.
(5) The term of office of the Vice-Chancellor will be four years (6) In the absence of the Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor, the Vice-Chancellor will preside over the convocation ceremony of the University.
(7) The Vice-Chancellor shall execute the decisions and instructions of the Assembly.
(8) The Vice-Chancellor shall perform other duties except the duties specified to be performed by any body or officer in this Act or the rules made under this Act. The Vice-Chancellor should immediately inform the Vice-Chancellor about such work and it should be approved by the next meeting of the Assembly.
(9) In the absence of the Vice-Chancellor, his work shall be as prescribed by the Vice-Chancellor (10) Other duties, duties and rights, remuneration, facilities and other conditions of service of the Vice-Chancellor shall be as prescribed.
