Section 30
Validity period for shortlisting of candidates

(1) The closed list published in accordance with sub-section (6) of section 29 shall be valid throughout the term of the House of Representatives. However, after the formation of the House of Representatives, if the nominating party sends a written request to remove the name of a candidate, the Commission may remove the name of such candidate from the closed list.
(2) If a member elected according to the proportional election system dies, resigns, abandons the party or for any other reason, the position becomes vacant, another member shall be elected as specified on the recommendation of the relevant party. In this way, when the party recommends, the candidate whose position is vacant, who is nominated on an inclusive basis, must recommend the name of another candidate from the closed list of candidates on an inclusive basis.
(3) A person whose name is included in the closed list of candidates for the proportional election system of the House of Representatives shall not be a candidate in the National Assembly, State Assembly or local level elections, unless the name has been removed in accordance with the restrictive clause of subsection (1). Explanation: For the purposes of this sub-section, "National Assembly" means the National Assembly constituted in accordance with Article 86 of the Constitution, "Province Assembly" means the Provincial Assembly constituted in accordance with Article 176 of the Constitution and "local level" means rural municipality, municipality and district assembly.
