Rule 10
Division of drugs into groups and subgroups

(1) For the purpose of grouping drugs according to section 17 of the Act, drugs are divided into groups "A", "B" and "C" and there may be subgroups in each group. Medicines belonging to group "A", "B" and "C" and the sub-groups under it shall be as mentioned in schedule-4:-

(2) Among the groups divided according to sub-rule (1)- (a) In group "A" there will be effective and poisonous drugs and in group "B" there will be drugs such as antibiotics, hormones etc. Medicines of these groups should be sold and distributed only according to the doctor's prescription and these medicines should be sold and distributed only by the pharmacist or businessperson himself or in the presence of one of the pharmacists or businessmen.
(b) Group "C" medicines, even if they do not have a doctor's prescription, any seller can sell and distribute based on experience, and the presence of a pharmacist or businessperson is not mandatory when selling and distributing medicines.
(3) Under Group “A” –
(a) Sub-group 1 shall include drugs mentioned in the same sub-group and drugs containing any substance (substance) related to it.
(b) Sub-group 2 shall include poisonous drugs containing any substance or any substance related to it mentioned in the same sub-group.
(4) In group "B" there will be medicines containing any essence or any substance related to it mentioned in the same group.
(5) Under Group “C”,
(a) Sub-group 1 shall contain drugs containing up to the specified percentage of drugs specified in the same sub-group.
(b) Sub-group 2 includes medicines containing any essence or any substance related to it mentioned in the same sub-group.
