Section 17
<br> to be registered with the legal practitioner
Only Nepali citizens who have passed the legal practitioner examination and have not been convicted of a criminal offense showing the following qualifications will be registered as advocates:
(a) having obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Law and having held a Gazetted post of Judge, Public Advocate or Judicial Service or working as a Law Teacher for at least five years, or
(b) has practiced law continuously for at least five years as an advocate and has obtained a bachelor's degree in law, or
(c) has practiced law continuously for at least seven years as an advocate, or
(d) Graduated in Law.
(2) Nepalese citizens who meet the following qualifications, who have passed the legal profession examination and who have not been convicted of a criminal offense that appears morally corrupt, will be registered as advocates until the middle of Chaitra 2070.
(a) having obtained a certificate of proficiency in law, or
(b) Practiced law as an agent for five years.
(a) having obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Law and having held a Gazetted post of Judge, Public Advocate or Judicial Service or working as a Law Teacher for at least five years, or
(b) has practiced law continuously for at least five years as an advocate and has obtained a bachelor's degree in law, or
(c) has practiced law continuously for at least seven years as an advocate, or
(d) Graduated in Law.
(2) Nepalese citizens who meet the following qualifications, who have passed the legal profession examination and who have not been convicted of a criminal offense that appears morally corrupt, will be registered as advocates until the middle of Chaitra 2070.
(a) having obtained a certificate of proficiency in law, or
(b) Practiced law as an agent for five years.
