Rule 20
Executive Promotion

(1) Officers who are potential candidates for promotion in the military technical service and who have completed the following service period in the official position, from fellow soldiers to assistant charioteers, in the event that a position above one level is vacant, the officer according to rule 18 may be promoted as acting as necessary upon the recommendation of the promotion committee - The position to be promoted is officer service Period Soldier Six years Chief Soldier Twelve years General Soldier Sixteen years Assistant Rathi Nineteen years and above Twenty years (2) Seniority shall be given priority in promotion as per sub-rule (1). (3) An officer who has been promoted to acting as per sub-rule (1) shall be allowed to mark the salary and scale of the post for which he is acting. (4) The officer who is promoted to acting duty will not get salary increase (grade) throughout the acting period.
