(1) Central Legal Aid Committee shall be formed to make necessary arrangements for providing legal aid to indigent persons and the following members shall be in the said committee:-

(a) Minister of Law and Justice – Chairman

(b) Chairman, Nepal Law Practitioners Council – Member

(c) Chairman, Nepal Bar Association – Member

(3) The work, duties and powers of the Central Committee shall be as follows:-

(a) To determine the policy and program related to legal aid,

(b) Supervising and controlling the activities of the district committees and giving instructions to such committees as required,

(c) Granting grants to the district committee for legal aid related work,

( d) Arranging the necessary funds for legal aid related work,

(e) Preparing a list of legal professionals to provide legal aid on behalf of a person who is incapable in the Supreme Court,

(f) Providing the public with the law and Publish and distribute introductory books, booklets, descriptions, etc. on various subjects to inform about legal aid and conduct research for that work. Designating the work, duties and rights of the sub-committees,

(i) Appointing the staff required by the central committee,

(j) To delegate some of the rights he has received to any sub-committee or any employee of the central committee as per the requirements of this Act, (k) To do other work as prescribed for the fulfillment of the purpose of this Act.< /p>

(4) The procedure related to the meeting of the Central Committee shall be as prescribed.
