In this Act, unless the subject or context otherwise requires,-

(a) “legal aid” shall mean legal opinion advice given to an indigent person under this Act; And the term shall also refer to the advocacy, accounting and other services in connection with legal proceedings on behalf of such incapacitated person. shall mean the Central Legal Aid Committee.

(c) “District Committee” shall mean the District Legal Aid Committee constituted under section 7.

(d) "Court" means the court where the legal proceedings are ongoing where the person receiving legal aid is a party and the term shall also refer to the officer or office that hears the case or conducts legal proceedings.

(e) "Prescribed" or "as prescribed" means as prescribed or prescribed in the rules made under this Act.
