Section 3
Establishment of the fund

(1) A fund shall be established by the name of Employee Provident Fund. The fund shall contain the following amounts and all the expenses to be done in accordance with this Act or the rules made under it shall be borne by the fund:- (a) All amounts given by the Government of Nepal or other persons for the purpose of financial assistance to the fund, (b) Deducted from the salaries of employees in accordance with this Act and (c) all sums accrued as interest and profit from the funds, (d) all sums in Civil Provident Funds, Military Provident Funds and Employees' Savings operated by the Government of Nepal prior to the commencement of this Act, and (e) to the Fund All funds received. (2) All funds of the fund shall be kept in Nepal Rashtra Bank or any other bank designated by the committee. However, where there is no such bank, the funds of the fund shall be kept in the Mal Adda or Treasury and Tehsil Office. will be an institution. The institution will have its own seal for all its work. The Fund may file a complaint in its own name and be sued against it in the same name. (4) Subject to this Act and the rules made thereunder, the Fund may acquire, hold, transfer, sell and lease movable and immovable property and fulfill the purposes of this Act. (5) The head office of the fund will be located in Kathmandu valley and the fund can open branches in other regions of Nepal whenever it wants to run the work of the fund smoothly.
