(1) The Government of Nepal shall from time to time publish a notice in the Nepal Gazette and appoint a food inspector to do the work mentioned in the Act and this regulation in relation to food items.
(2) The food inspector appointed in accordance with sub-rule (1) shall perform the duties assigned to him in accordance with the Act and this regulation within the area assigned to him.
(3) If the Government of Nepal deems it necessary, it may appoint a person to exercise the authority of a food inspector in accordance with the Act and this regulation in relation to a directed area.
(4) The food inspector appointed in accordance with sub-rules (1) and (3) or the designated person shall be given an identity card in the format specified in Schedule-1.
