Rule 16
Formation of Food Standardization Committee

(1) In order to carry out the work specified in the Act and this regulation, a Food Standard Determination Committee has been established as follows:-
(a) Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives – Chairman
(b) Representative, Ministry of Law and Justice – Member
(c) Representative, Ministry of Industries – Member
(d) Representative, Ministry of Commerce – Member
(e) Representative, Ministry of Supply – Member
(f) Representative, Ministry of Home Affairs – Member
(g) Representative, Ministry of Health – Member
(h) Representative, Kathmandu Metropolitan City – Member
(i) One food industry professional nominated by the Federation of Commerce and Industry - member
(j) One member nominated by the Ministry of Supply from among the consumers of food (k) Head, Food Technology and Quality Control Department – ​​Member-Secretary
(2) The representative member of the ministry level should be at least of the deputy secretary level.
(3) The term of office of the members nominated in accordance with clauses (j) and (j) of sub-rule (1) shall be two years. But if any nominated member is absent from the committee meeting for three consecutive times without notice, another person can be nominated in his place.
(4) If the Government of Nepal deems it necessary, it may publish a notice in the Nepal Gazette and make changes or additions to the members in accordance with sub-rule (1).
