(1) The person who has obtained the search permit shall carry out the search operation within ninety days from the date of obtaining the permit.
(2) If the search operation is not conducted within the period as per sub-rule (1), the department may cancel the search operation permit.
(3) Notwithstanding anything written elsewhere in this rule, if the person who has obtained a permit for search operation submits an application to the department before the expiry of the said period including the reason for not being able to conduct the search operation within the period specified in sub-rule (1) due to special circumstances, the application shall be investigated and the reasons If it is reasonable, the department may allow the investigation to be conducted within ninety days from the date of expiry of that period.
