(1) A person or organization wishing to establish and operate an animal slaughterhouse in a non-government area shall submit an application to the office in the format as per Schedule-1 along with the plan proposal and recommendation of the local body for the license.
(2) After receiving the application according to sub-rule (1), the office shall make necessary inquiries on the matter and send such application to the department for technical consultation along with its opinion.
(3) After receiving the application according to sub-rule (2), the department shall conduct the necessary study and send all the documents back to the concerned office along with technical consultation.
(4) Based on the technical consultation received from the department according to sub-rule (3), if it is deemed appropriate to establish and operate the animal slaughterhouse, the office shall take a fee of one thousand rupees and issue a license to the applicant in accordance with schedule-2.
(5) A person or organization establishing and operating an animal slaughterhouse in a non-government area shall make arrangements for the necessary meat inspector for the animal slaughterhouse established and operated by him in accordance with the Act and this regulation.
(6) Abattoirs established before the commencement of this regulation shall also be able to obtain a license within 6 months from the date of commencement of this regulation.
