(1) Any licensed person shall submit an application to the Film Scrutiny Committee in the prescribed format before showing any film and the said committee may also examine the film and grant or deny permission as follows.
(a) permit the public exhibition of the film without any condition, or
(b) permit public screening of the said film only by trimming or altering it or complying with any other condition, or
(c) permit the film to be exhibited in public only to adults who have attained the age of 16 years, or
(d) Not allowing the film to be screened in public.
(2) The Film Screening Committee shall give reasonable opportunity to the applicant to express his views before deciding whether to grant permission under clause (b), (c) or (d) of sub-section (1).
(3) Any film or any part of it is contrary to the security, peace and order of Nepal ……….., friendly relations with friendly nations or between different classes or castes or adversely affects public interest, morals or ethics or any The Film Screening Committee will not allow such a film to be screened if it is found to be insulting to the honor of a particular person or contempt of court or promotes gender violence or incites to commit any crime. However, if any part of the film is shown by trimming or manipulating it, if it is found that this sub-section is not adverse, the film screening committee may grant permission to exhibit it by trimming or manipulating it as required.
(4) If, in the opinion of the Government of Nepal, a film that has been approved for screening by the Film Screening Committee is deemed to be adversely affected by sub-section (3), the Government of Nepal may, at any time, stop the screening of such film or cut or cut it as deemed necessary. (5) A person aggrieved by the decision made by the Film Screening Committee in accordance with this section may file an appeal before the Government of Nepal within thirty-five days from the date of the decision.
