(1) The Government of Nepal may publish a notice in the Nepal Gazette and determine the pollution tolerance of water sources.
(2) No one shall pollute the water source by dumping or using any kind of sewage, industrial waste, poison, chemical or poisonous substance in such a way as to exceed the pollution tolerance limit of the water source as specified in sub-section (1).
(3) In relation to whether a water source is polluted or whether a water source is of the specified quality in accordance with sub-section (1) of section 18, the designated authority may conduct a test as required.
