Rule 15
Stamps can be removed
The inspector can cancel the stamps on the measuring weights and measuring instruments in the following cases:-
(a) measuring weights and measuring instruments not in accordance with the Act and these rules, or
(b) the measuring weights and measuring instruments are broken, cracked or dented or otherwise defective, or
(c) the measuring weights and measuring instruments are not brought for re-examination and verification within the period specified in these rules, or
(d) The extent of decrease in measuring weights and measuring weighing devices exceeds the limit of decrease and increase specified in these rules. However, according to this section, the inspector may give a written order to adjust the measuring and weighing devices that have decreased limits within 15 days, and within that period, the adjusted measuring weights and measuring weighing devices are found to be correct. There is no need to cancel the stitch.
