(1) If anyone violates this Act or the rules made under this Act, the designated officer may fine him up to five thousand rupees. If someone has suffered loss due to such a fault, the designated officer can also compensate him for such loss.
(2) If a person who is required to obtain a permit in accordance with this Act produces, transmits or distributes electricity without obtaining it or without complying with the conditions mentioned in the permit, the designated authority may fine him up to five lakh rupees and stop such work.

(4) If any person maliciously does any work adversely affecting, demolishes, defaces or in any way damages any power generation or substation, transmission line, distribution line or any other structure connected therewith or encourages any such work; Or if he does such an act, he may be fined or imprisoned for up to ten years, or both, after recovering damages from him.
