Punishment
: B (1) Illegally killing, injuring, buying, selling or handing over a rhinoceros, tiger, elephant, musk deer, snow leopard, snow leopard or cow.
2. A person who gives away, buys, sells or transports rhinoceros horn or musk veena, snow leopard skin and similar protected wild animals shall be punished with a fine of ₹ five lakh to ₹ 10 lakh or imprisonment for a term of five to fifteen years or both. (4) If a protected bird is hunted and killed or injured, a fine of fifteen thousand to thirty thousand rupees or imprisonment of three months to nine months or both shall be imposed.
