Section 41
Cancellation of certificate of registration

(1) If any vehicle registered in accordance with this Act is destroyed in any way or damaged to the extent that it cannot be driven, or if it is taken out of Nepal permanently, the owner of the vehicle shall attach the registration certificate and submit an application in the prescribed format to the authorized officer to deduct the cost of such vehicle within thirty days. But from the archaeological point of view, if an important vehicle or any part of such a vehicle has to be taken outside Nepal, the owner of the vehicle should take the prior approval of the authorized authority.
(2) If an application is made as per sub-section (1), the authorized officer shall, after conducting the necessary investigation and finding that the vehicle is correct, cancel the certificate of such registration and record the vehicle in the registration book and deduct the cost of such vehicle.
