Section 7
Daily and Visiting Allowance
(1) Ministers shall be given daily and visiting allowance as follows while visiting Nepal in connection with government work:-
(a) Daily Allowance:
(1) Prime Minister – Rs. 210.–
(2) Deputy Prime Minister – Rs. 195.-
(3) Minister – Rs. 190.- (4) Minister of State- Rs. 180.–
(5) Assistant Minister – Rs. 145.- (b) Visiting Allowance:
(1) When visiting on foot, –
(a) Twenty five rupees per month to the Prime Minister.
(b) Twenty rupees per month to the Deputy Prime Minister.
(c) Fifteen rupees per month to the Minister.
(d) Ten rupees each to the Minister of State and Assistant Minister.
(2) Fuel expenses incurred for one vehicle as per bill reimbursement while traveling by motor.
(3) When traveling by train, the Prime Minister will be charged for two people in air-conditioned places and first-class tickets in non-air-conditioned places and including reserved expenses if worth is reserved and other ministers will be charged for one person in air-conditioned places and first-class tickets in non-air-conditioned places. If expenses and value are reserved, the reserved expenses also.
(4) Ticket expenses for two persons for the Prime Minister and one ticket for other ministers while traveling by air.
(5) Ticket expenses and wages for traveling by other vehicles.
(6) If the Minister deems it very necessary, he may accompany the staff of the private secretariat on the visit. In this way, the visiting staff will be given daily and visiting allowance as per the rules of the Government of Nepal. The government of Nepal can determine the number of employees who will accompany the minister on the visit.
(2) Ministers will be given daily and visiting allowances as follows when they travel outside Nepal on government work or to participate in various functions, celebrations, conferences etc. on behalf of the Government of Nepal:-
(a) Daily Allowance:
(1) When visiting all other Asian countries except Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, the Prime Minister shall receive an allowance of one hundred and twenty-five US dollars per day and other ministers shall receive an allowance of one hundred and twenty-five US dollars per day.will get But in the case of India, Indian currency equivalent to foreign currency will be provided.
(2) When visiting Japan, South Korea, the Philippines and other countries, the Prime Minister will receive an allowance of one hundred and fifty US dollars per day and other ministers will receive an allowance of one hundred and twenty five US dollars per day.
(b) Visiting Allowance:
(1) Motor fare as per bill when traveling by motor.
(2) When traveling by train, the prime minister will be charged for two people with air condition and first class ticket for other ministers and one person for other ministers and first class ticket for other ministers.
(3) When visiting by airplane, the first class ticket cost for two persons for the Prime Minister and the first class ticket cost for one person for the Deputy Prime Minister and the business class ticket cost for one person for other ministers.
(4) Expenditure as per bill for one person while traveling by waterway.
(5) When the Ministers go outside Nepal on a formal visit as guests of foreign countries, they will receive daily allowance only at the rate of half of the daily allowance received as per clause (a) of sub-section (2) as long as they stay in such country.
