Section 194
<br> to apply for adoption or adoption
A foreigner or a couple who is qualified according to section 192 and who wants to adopt a Nepali minor or a minor of a foreigner living in Nepal as a son or daughter-in-law, through the embassy of their country in Nepal and if there is no such embassy in Nepal, through the central agency of the relevant country that allows adoption as a son or daughter-in-law. An application should be submitted to the board by attaching the following documents:-
(a) Birth registration certificate of the applicant,
(b) A recent photograph of the applicant,
(c) A copy of the applicant's passport,
(d) Document proving the applicant's marital status,
(e) Certificate issued by a licensed medical practitioner regarding the health of the applicant,
(f) A certificate issued by the government agency of the concerned country that the applicant is of good character and has not been found guilty by a court of law of criminal charges of moral turpitude,
(g) Documents proving the property and source of income of the applicant,
(h) Applicant's social, psychological and home study report (Social, Psychological, Home Study Report),
(i) the age, sex and other particulars of the child to be adopted or to be adopted,
(j) Letter of consent given to the applicant by the government of his/her country to adopt a son or daughter from Nepal,
(k) A letter of assurance written by the government of the respective country or the designated embassy of the country in Nepal that the status of the adopted son or daughter will be the same as his own son or daughter according to the law of the country of the person who wants to adopt a son or daughter. (l) According to the laws of the country of the person who wants to adopt a son or daughter, he/she is eligible to adopt a son or daughter and has the financial capacity to bear all the responsibilities including upbringing, health, education and protection of the child to be adopted or adopted by him/her, the government of such person's country, Nepal of such country or Nepal. Guarantee letter written from the designated embassy.
(2) Sub-section (1)The following documents must be written in English language or translated into English or Nepali language by an authorized body.
(3) When considering the application received under sub-section (1), if it is appropriate to adopt a son or daughters according to the request of the applicant, the board shall keep the name and address of the applicant confidential and send the related details to the selection committee.
(4) When making an application according to sub-section (1), if determined by the Government of Nepal on the recommendation of the board, the application fee of Wamojim will have to be submitted.
