Section 37
Religious forests can be withdrawn
(1) If the religious body, group or community concerned in the religious forest handed over in accordance with section 35, commits an act contrary to section 36, or fails to carry out the work required to be done in the religious forest, or fails to comply with the requirements of this Act and the rules made under this Act, the Divisional Forest Officer shall Can decide to take back the religious forest. But before making a decision to take back the religious forest, the related religious bodies, groups or communities will be given the opportunity to submit their clarifications.
(2) A religious body, group or community that is not satisfied with the decision made by the Divisional Forest Officer in accordance with sub-section (1) may appeal to the Regional Forest Director as prescribed. The decision of the Regional Forest Director in such a complaint will be final.
