: (1) There will be a board of directors at the central level to do the necessary work related to the protection of the rights and interests of consumers by making the business related to the direct sale or distribution of goods safe, orderly and fair.
(2) According to sub-section (1), the following members will be in the committee of directors:-
(a) Secretary, Ministry – Chairman
(b) Joint Secretary, Ministry of Finance – Member
(c) Joint Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs – Member
(d) Joint Secretary, Ministry of Industries – Member
(e) Head, Office of the Registrar of Companies – Member
(f) Representative, one person nominated by the Ministry on behalf of representative organizations related to consumer rights and interests - member (g) Representative, one person nominated by the Ministry on behalf of the representative organization associated with the direct sale or distribution of goods - member (h) Representative, one person nominated by the Ministry from among the experts having experience related to direct sale or distribution of goods – Member
(i) Director General, Department – ​​Member Secretary
(3) The term of office of the members nominated under clauses (f), (g) and (h) of sub-section (2) shall be two years and they may be re-nominated.
(4) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-section (3), if the nominated member does not perform according to his position, the Ministry may remove him at any time. But before removing him in that way, he should be given a reasonable opportunity to present his justification.
(5) If the position of a member of the Board of Directors becomes vacant for any reason, the vacant position shall be filled in the manner in which such position was nominated.
(6) The department will do the work of the secretariat of the board of directors.
