Rule 31
Acting as a Designated National Authority
: (1) The Ministry shall act as a designated national authority (Designated National Authority) in relation to the commercialization of certified emission reductions from projects related to clean development mechanisms.
(2) The work, duties and powers of the national body determined under sub-rule (1) shall be as follows:-
(a) To increase the participation of the private sector in projects related to clean development mechanism,
(b) 'Providing necessary technical assistance to the proponent for project preparation related to Clean Development Mechanism,
(c) To manage, coordinate and regulate the activities related to clean development mechanism,
(d) To share information, knowledge, skills and good practices related to clean development mechanisms,
(e) To enhance the capacity of stakeholders regarding the clean development mechanism, (f) To issue a letter of agreement regarding the project concept paper submitted by the proponent and the approval letter regarding the project design document,
(g) To monitor and evaluate projects related to clean development mechanism,
(h) To participate in conferences or seminars on clean development mechanisms,
(i) Managing knowledge and information related to clean development mechanisms,
(jj) To perform other functions as determined by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
