Section 10
Duties, Duties and Powers of Election Officer

(1) Under the direction of the Commission and the Chief Election Officer, it shall be the duty of the Election Officer to carry out all the work related to the conduct of elections in accordance with this Act in a clean, fair and independent manner.
(2) Other duties, duties and rights of the Election Officer shall be as prescribed.
(3) The election officer may delegate his authority to the staff assigned to do the election work as needed. However, the authority to check the nomination papers, approve or cancel the nomination papers and announce the final result of the vote counting cannot be delegated.
(4) The Election Officer may appoint or engage the employees of the Government of Nepal, State Government and local level, employees of institutions owned or controlled by the Government of Nepal, State Government or funded by the Government of Nepal or State Government, or teachers or employees of universities or community schools in any work related to the election. However, when assigning employees or teachers in this way, in the case of employees, they should be assigned to the respective ward of the place where their home address is, and in the case of teachers, they should be assigned to the respective ward of the place where they work and their home address.
