Rule 88
Pension Procedure
(1) In relation to military personnel who retire due to age limit or service period, the military archives shall send a notice of retirement to the relevant department, office or unit six months before the date of such retirement.
(2) A military person shall submit an application to the Military Archives through the department, office or unit where he/she works within six months from the date of separation from service. The application filed in the office, department or unit shall be kept in the military archives by the relevant office, department or unit.
(3) The person close to the family of the deceased soldier must submit an application to the relevant office, department or unit within six months of the death of the soldier, and the relevant office, department or unit must send the application to the military archive.
(4) After receiving the application according to sub-rule (2) or (3), the Military Archives shall take necessary action on it and give the pension entitlement certificate as per Schedule-12 to the pensioner.
(5) The certificate of pension under sub-rule (4) shall be jointly signed by the head of the military archives and the head of the pension management office.
(6) The following functions related to pension will be done by the office of the Controller of Funds and Accounts of the same district on the recommendation of the head of the district where bank payments are being received:-
(a) If a copy of the certificate of pension issued once or if a copy of the certificate is to be given, or if the name of the person receiving family pension is changed after the death of the person bearing the pension or family pension certificate, or if there is an amendment to the certified pension certificate, or a photo and signature on the pension certificate and form as sent from the military archives If verified,
(b) If the pension amount has to be increased after the age of the pensioner reaches 60 years, 75 years and 85 years.
(7) Military personnel released from service due to acceptance of resignation or other reasonsLater or in the event that the concerned commanding officer should give a certificate showing the following details:-
(a) Date of entry into service,
(b) Training and decorations received during the service period,
(c) Cumulative Service Period,
(d) Date of Retirement,
(e) Other essential matters. However, such certificate will not be given to military personnel who have been discharged as they are deemed unfit for government service in the future.
