:– In this Act, unless the subject or context requires otherwise,–
(a) "Council" means the Nepal Veterinary Council established under section 3.
(b) "Chairman" means the Chairman of the Council.
(c) "Member" shall mean a member of the Council and the term shall also refer to the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Council.
(d) "Registration book" means the book for registering the names of veterinarians in accordance with this Act.
(e) "Registered Veterinarian" means a Veterinarian whose name is registered in the Register Book.
(f) "Veterinarian" means a person who has obtained at least a bachelor's degree in veterinary medicine from an educational institution recognized by the Council.
(g) "Registrar" means the Registrar appointed under section 19.
(h) "Animal medicine" means any substance, hormone or biological substance used in the diagnosis, treatment or control of animal diseases and the term also refers to proteins, salts or vitamins used in animal feed.
(i) "Animal" means animals, birds and fish.
(j) "Prescribed" or "as prescribed" means prescribed or prescribed in the rules made under this Act.
