Section 2
Definition
In this Act, unless the subject or context otherwise requires, –
(A) "Tourist" means a non-Nepali citizen who comes to the state of Nepal from a foreign country to visit. (A1) Nepali tourist means a Nepali citizen who visits from one place to another place in Nepal. (b) "Travel agency" means a person, firm or company, irrespective of the name of the operation, which arranges travel, accommodation and sightseeing in places where modern vehicles are available for a fee on behalf of tourists or other persons.
(c) "Trekking agency" means a person, firm or company, irrespective of the name of the operation, which arranges for tourists or other people to travel to places where modern vehicles are not generally available for a fee, for the purpose of providing them with various natural and cultural sights.
(d) "Mountaineering" means the act of climbing such a mountain by a party with the aim of reaching a certain peak of the Nepali snow range.
(e) "Base camp" means a camp at a lower altitude than can be reached without special techniques related to mountaineering, which is set up to store goods, food, medicine, etc. to be used for climbing the related mountain, to supply such goods needed by the advance camp or to give instructions about mountaineering. .
(f) "Liaison officer" means the liaison officer appointed by the Government of Nepal to accompany the mountaineer team as per section 20.
(g) "Sardar" means the person who organizes local workers, guides mountain guides and controls workers who go to high altitudes or work in base camps. Section 4 of this Act is stipulated to be effective immediately by the notice published in the Nepal Gazette dated 26.7.2036. Amended by the Second Amendment. (h) “Mountain Pathfinder (MtGuide)” means a person who goes above the base camp to assist or help the climbers in their climbing.
(i) "Altitude workers" means workers who bring essential goods above the base camp. (k) "Base camp worker" means a person who does cooking, postage and other similar work for the mountaineer team at the base camp.
(l) "Mountaineering Association" shall mean a mountaineering association registered in accordance with the prevailing law and recognized by the Government of Nepal for the purpose of mountaineering as per Section 37.
(D) "Path Demonstrator" means a person licensed under Section 39 who accompanies tourists for remuneration.
(d)……(n) “Prescribed” or “as prescribed” shall mean as prescribed or prescribed in this Act or the rules made under this Act.
