Section 2
Definition
In this Act, unless the subject or the context otherwise requires,–
(a) "Constitution" means the Constitution of Nepal.
(b) "Minister" means the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister or Minister and the term also refers to the Minister of State who independently handles the duties of the Ministry. Amended by the Act to amend certain Nepal Acts, 2072.
(c) "Secretary" means the Secretary of the Ministry and the term also refers to the Chief Secretary of the Government of Nepal and any other official of the Government of Nepal who performs similar functions.
(d) "Ministry" means the Ministry of the Government of Nepal and the word refers to the office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers or the constitutional body or the central level office as well.
(e) "Head of Department" means an officer working as the head of a department or other similar office under a ministry.
(f) "Head of Office" means an official who works as the head of a government office.
