In this Act, unless the subject or the context otherwise requires,–
(a) "Complaint hearing officer" shall mean the officer under section 14.
(b) "Employee" means an employee or a worker employed in a workplace.
(c) "Place of work" shall mean the following body, organization or firm and the term shall also mean the place used in the performance of such body, organization or firm:-
(1) Governmental body,
(2) An organized body wholly or partially owned by the Government of Nepal,
(3) A body or organization established in accordance with prevailing laws,
(4) A firm, body or organized organization that has received permission or registered in accordance with the prevailing law for the purpose of providing any business, transaction or service.
(d) "Sexual harassment" means any act under section 4.
(e) "Manager" shall mean the person authorized to make the final decision regarding the administrative or professional work of a workplace or the officer exercising delegated authority for that purpose and the term also refers to the head of such branch or unit if there is a branch or unit elsewhere in such workplace. .
(f) "Consumer" means a person present at the workplace for the purpose of receiving some kind of service and the term also refers to the person accompanying him to the workplace.
