In this Act unless the subject or context otherwise requires-
(a) "water" means a lake, pond, stream, river, canal, pond, canal, channel, pond, reservoir, artificial reservoir, wetland, cage for fishing and fish farming; The water of the paddy fields and their sources should also be remembered.
(b) "Aquatic" means any living creature living in water.
(c) "Local Officer" means the Chief District Officer of the concerned district.
(C1) "Technical officer" means the staff appointed by the Government of Nepal to carry out fisheries development or fisheries research or fisheries propagation work. (C2) "Fees ladder" means an alternative way for the movement of aquatic animals in the water.
(d) "Private water" shall mean a lake, dam, pool, lake or reservoir of his right and enjoyment on the land on which the property tax or land tax has been paid to the local level.
(e) "Prescribed" or "as prescribed" means prescribed or prescribed in the rules made under this Act.
