Unless the subject or context requires otherwise, in this Act, - (a) "authorized officer" means an officer authorized by a notified order to collect the data and information required to be collected under this Act.
(b) "Director General" means the Director General of the Central Statistics Department appointed by the Government of Nepal.
(c) "Notified Order" means an order published in the Nepal Gazette.

(d) "Officer of the Department" means a person appointed as an officer of the Central Statistics Department as prescribed. (e) "Designated" or " "as prescribed" means prescribed or prescribed in the rules made under this Act.
