In this Act, unless the subject or the context otherwise requires,—
(a) "Council" shall mean the Nepal Quality Council established as per section 3.

(b) "Office" shall mean the Nepal Quality Office established as per section 5.

(c) ) "Quality" shall mean the Nepalese quality determined or recognized by the Council.

(d) "Substance" shall mean natural, semi-natural, artificial, manufactured, processed, semi-processed or unprocessed goods.

(e) "Process" means any process from the production or manufacture of the substance to its consumption. (g) "Licence" shall mean a license to use evidence-marks. ) "Prescribed" or "as prescribed" means prescribed or prescribed in the rules made under this Act.
