– In this Act, unless the subject or context requires otherwise,–
(a) "Plant" means a living or dead plant or any part thereof and the term includes stems, branches, nodules, cuttings, bark, roots, leaves, fruits, flowers, seeds and germplasm.
(b) “plant produce” means plant material not ready for use (including seeds) or plant material which has been prepared for use but which may introduce or introduce harmful organisms due to the nature of processing or any other reason.
(c) "Other items" means any plant or plant product storage place, packaging, container, vehicle, plant growing medium such as soil, peat, peat and other similar items that can harbor or spread diseases or pests.
(d) "Enemy" means rodents, birds, disease-causing microorganisms, lice, insects and weeds that harm plants or plant products and the term also refers to their species or species.
(e) "regular pest" means quarantine pest and the term includes controlled pests that cause economic damage to plants and plant produce.
(f) "Quarantine pest" shall mean any pest which has been designated by the Ministry by publishing a notice in the Nepal Gazette as causing economic damage to plants or plant products.
(g) "Beneficial insects" means insects such as bees, silkworms, silkworms.
(h) "Biological control agent" means organisms such as parasites, anti-parasites, predatory insects used to control pests by biological methods and the term also includes plants such as mushrooms, bacteria, fungi, viruses. .
(h) "Vehicle" means airplanes, trains, trucks, carts, horses, mules and other similar means used for transporting plants, plant products or other goods.
(j) "container" means a vessel, box, bag or other similar vessel used or contained for the transport of plants, plant produce or other goods;You must remember.
(k) "Quarantine" means keeping such plant, plant produce or other thing in a place specified or designated by the inspector for the purpose of observing, examining, inspecting, examining, inspecting and, if not healthy, treating the plant, plant produce or other thing as unhealthy; .
(l) "Test area" means the area set aside for carrying out the process of plant health testing.
(D) "Enemy area" means an area where an enemy has entered to maintain stability in an area.
(l) "Infestation" means the presence or introduction of a pest causing damage to plants or plant produce.
(n) "Inspector" shall mean the person designated as per section 14.
(s) "Ministry" means the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives of the Government of Nepal.
(h) "Committee" means the Plant Quarantine Committee constituted as per Section 3.
(d) "Organization" means the office of the National Plant Protection Organization designated by the Government of Nepal in accordance with Section 6.
(d) "Entry Permit" shall mean the permit issued in accordance with Section 7.
(N) "Health Certificate" shall mean the health certificate issued as per section 12.
(p) "Organization" means a firm or an organized organization registered in accordance with the prevailing law.
(f) "Pest risk analysis" means the process of regular determination of pests for plant or plant product breeding purposes in accordance with section 17.
(b) "Dangerous area" means an area with a favorable environment for the establishment of harmful organisms causing economic damage to plants or plant products.
(b) "Office" shall mean the office established as per Section 33.
(m) "Prescribed" or "as prescribed" means prescribed or prescribed in the rules made under this Act.
