Section 2
Definition
: In this Act, unless the subject or context requires otherwise,-
(a) "National Security Council" means the National Security Council as per Article 266 of the Constitution of Nepal.
(b) "Central Security Committee" means the Central Security Committee as per section 7.
(c) "Armed Police Service" means the service under the Armed Police Force, Nepal constituted as per section 3.
(d) "Armed Police" means a person appointed in Armed Police Service.
(e) "Armed Police Officer" means Armed Police Officer of the rank of Assistant Inspector of Armed Police and above.
(f) "Gazetted Officer" means Inspector of Armed Police and Armed Police Officer of the rank above.
(g) "Commission" means the Armed Police Service Commission constituted under Section 11.
(h) "Authority" means an officer who can appoint as per section 13.
(i) "Other police" means the police under the Police Act, 2012.
(j) "Armed Police Special Court" means the Armed Police Special Court established under Section 28 or Section 29.
(k) "Armed insurrection" means an act committed by someone using weapons with the intention of disrupting the sovereignty, geographical integrity, relations between federal units or national unity of the State of Nepal, causing any disorder or overthrowing the power of Nepal or creating opposition to the functioning of Nepal.< br> (l) "Prescribed" or "as prescribed" means prescribed or prescribed in the rules made under this Act.
