In this Act, unless the subject or context otherwise requires,–
(a) “treaty” means an agreement concluded in writing between two or more States or any State and an intergovernmental organization; shall be understood and the term shall also refer to any named instrument of this nature.
(b) “Authority” means the authority issued by the Government of Nepal to negotiate a treaty or to accept the final draft or authentic copy of the treaty or to sign the treaty. shall mean a letter of authority and the term shall include the authority given to make a reservation or to do any other thing in relation to such treaty at the time of negotiating or signing such treaty. When approving, acceding, accepting or supporting such a treaty, it shall be understood that a party declares that any provision of that treaty is not applicable to it, and that term shall also mean a declaration made by a party to interpret such a provision clearly in its own right.
(d) ) "Abandonment of the treaty" shall mean the declaration of termination of the treaty in the manner mentioned in the treaty.
(e) "Constitution" shall mean the Constitution of Nepal.
