(1) Social Welfare Council has been established to conduct social welfare work in an orderly manner by coordinating, mobilizing and promoting social association organizations.
(2) The Council shall consist of the following members:-
(a) Minister, Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens - Chairman
(b) One social worker nominated by the Government of Nepal - Vice President (c) One social worker nominated by the Government of Nepal - Treasurer

(e) Member (looking after Social Services), National Planning Commission – Member
(f) A maximum of four members nominated by the Government of Nepal from among the social workers, including at least one woman. (g) Three members nominated by the Government of Nepal from various social organizations (h) Representative, concerned Ministry (looking after Social Welfare) – Member
(j) Representative, Ministry of Home Affairs – Member
(j) Representative, Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration – Member
(k) Representative, Ministry of Finance – Member (l) Representative, Ministry of Health and Population - Member (d) Representative, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology – Member
(d) Person nominated by the Government of Nepal - Member - Secretary
(3) The term of office of nominated members shall be four years and they shall be eligible for re-nomination.
(4) The Government of Nepal may change the members of the Council by publishing a notice in the Nepal Gazette on the recommendation of the Council with reasons.
