(1) A council by the name of National Sports Council shall be established for the development of sports.

(2) The council established under sub-section (1) shall have the following members:-

(A) Minister of Education and Sports or Minister of State – Chairman A maximum of eleven members nominated by the Government of Nepal, including at least three female athletes (c) Five members, one each recommended by the Regional Sports Development Committee of each development area. (d) Three members nominated by the president from among the people recommended by national level sports related organizations. Two Nominated – Member

(f) Representative, Ministry of Education and Sports – Member

(3) The chairman will appoint the vice-chairman, member-secretary and treasurer of the council from among the members.

(4) If the council deems it necessary, it may invite any native or foreign expert or consultant to participate in the meeting of the council as an observer.

(5) The head office of the Council shall be in Kathmandu.
