(1) In case the same personal incident of a person is registered more than once, the concerned person or the indicator may submit an application to the local authority along with the complete certificate of personal incident registration to maintain only one registration.
(2) In relation to the application made under sub-rule (1), the local authority shall carry out the necessary investigation and if it is proved that the same individual incident has been registered more than once and the facts related to the individual incident so registered are not different, the previous registration shall be maintained and the other registration shall be cancelled.
(3) If the registration of an individual incident is canceled according to sub-rule (2), the local authority shall give the information thereof to the concerned local post-officer and after receiving such information, the local authority shall update the records thereof.
