Section 18
Certificate Revocation
(1) The certificate of the notary public will be canceled in the following cases:-
(a) If he is found guilty by the court of the offense mentioned in clauses (c) and (d) of section 13,
(b) in case of his death,
(c) If his mental balance is not right,
(d) if he does not renew the certificate,
(e) if his certificate of legal practice is revoked or if his name is removed from the register of legal practitioners, or
(f) if he voluntarily applies to the Council for cancellation of the certificate.
(2) If a notary public commits official misconduct or does any other act contrary to this Act or the rules made under this Act, the Council may revoke the certificate obtained by him.
(3) Before canceling the certificate in accordance with sub-section (2), the council shall give fifteen days time to submit an explanation to the concerned notary public.
(4) If the certificate is revoked in accordance with this section, the council shall immediately inform the relevant district court and the bar association.
