: Since it is desirable to establish and organize the Nepal Law Practitioners Council to protect the rights and interests of legal practitioners and conduct more responsible services towards the society, Parliament has enacted this Act in the twenty-second year of the reign of Shri 5 Maharajadhiraj Birendra Bir Bikram Shahdev.
