: To ensure the right of every person to privacy of life, residence, property, documents, statistics, correspondence and character related matters, to arrange for the protection and safe use of personal information in public bodies or institutions and to promote a decent standard of living by ensuring that the privacy of individuals is not encroached upon. As it is desirable to make a legal arrangement regarding doing so, the Federal Parliament has made this Act.
