: Since it is desirable to establish and operate a deposit and credit protection fund for the purpose of economic development of the country by protecting the deposits and loans of the general public, to enhance the credibility of the banking and financial system and to protect and promote the economic interests of the general public, the Constitution of Nepal The Legislature-Parliament as per clause (1) of Article 296 has made this Act.
