: It is desirable to organize all kinds of sports by conducting sports-related training for the physical and mental development of students and general public through sports and to prepare competent and disciplined citizens and to develop sports by making necessary arrangements including appropriate participation of Nepal in international sports competitions. Since, in the twenty-first year of the reign of Shri 5th Maharajadhiraj Birendra Bir Vikram Shahdev, Parliament has made this Act.
