Section 9
Surrender of firearms and ammunition to the police station

(1) If the license of any person possessing firearms and ammunition expires or the license is revoked or the publication of a notice under section 8 or in any other way makes it illegal to possess such firearms or ammunition. or ammunition should be immediately surrendered to the local police office and the police office should take action in accordance with the prevailing laws. Even before the termination, he will be able to get the following rights again:-

(A) If it is legal to keep with him the arms or ammunition so surrendered, he will be entitled to take back the arms or ammunition,

(B) The person who is legally entitled to keep the weapons or equipment delivered in such a way can sell, cause or take the profit from such sale. However, nothing in this sub-section shall be deemed to authorize the withdrawal or sale of any confiscated arms or ammunition.

(3) Any arms or ammunition collected without being returned as per sub-section (2) within the specified period shall be the property of the Government of Nepal. .

(4) Without having any adverse effect on the generality of the sections mentioned above, the Government of Nepal may make rules on the following matters:-Amended by the Amendment, Consolidation, Adjustment and Repeal of Certain Nepalese Laws Act, 2074.

(a) under what conditions and circumstances the licensee shall surrender the arms or ammunition, and

(b) after the expiry of what period the arms or ammunition shall be confiscated under sub-section (3).
