: (1) In addition to the functions, duties and powers mentioned in the Act, other functions, duties and powers of the Authority shall be as follows :-
(a) to determine the subject and standards of orientation and training related to disaster management to be given to employees and workers based on the nature of public organizations and commercial establishments,
(b) To increase public awareness regarding disaster risk reduction, to carry out activities including capacity building,
(c) To coordinate with the security agencies to form a flying squad for immediate deployment in times of disaster and arrange for training and orientation necessary for such flying squad,
(d) Safely storing the relief materials received during the disaster and making arrangements for transparent distribution to the affected people, (e) Necessary guidelines for the relevant bodies of the federation, state and local levels for the issue of disaster risk reduction to be adopted while conducting development and construction activities. To do,
(f) Guiding government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and private sector programs that work on disaster management to be mobilized based on the priorities and needs of the Government of Nepal and monitoring the implementation of such programs.
(2) Details of the work carried out by the Authority shall be regularly provided to the Ministry.
(3) The organization structure and job description of the authority shall be approved by the Government of Nepal.
(4) Until the formation of the authority, the work of the authority will be done by the disaster management department of the ministry.
